  • Women encounter sexual problems which cause disappointment, leading to several emotional and psychological problems. These sexual problems are commonly referred to as sexual dysfunction. It could occur during any of the four phases of the sexual response cycle – excitement, plateau, orgasmic, or resolution. This prevents the couple from experiencing satisfaction during sex, leaving them frustrated.

It is difficult to classify problems associated with decline of female vitality.

Medical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, neurological diseases, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, hormonal imbalances, loss of libido, menopause, and chronic diseases such as kidney disease or liver failure are known to cause sexual problems. Sexual desire can also be affected by the side effects of certain medications including antidepressant drugs. Stress due to work, anxiety, concerns about sexual performance, problems in relationships, depression, guilt, and past sexual trauma are some psychological causes of sexual dysfunction. Symptoms include low desire for sex, depression, anxiety and fatigue
